Graduated Return to Work (GRTW) Plan Jobsite Solutions philosophy is unique in that we take work hardening out of the clinic. We replace it with a functionally based program utilizing real (not simulated) work tasks to reintegrate the injured worker directly into the workplace and back to pre-injury status. Graduated Return to Work Plan techniques are indicated for those injured employees who are capable of meaningful function, but are still subject to work restrictions that prevent a full return to pre-injury status. The GRTW utilizes workplace tasks to progressively restore the neuromuscular, cardiovascular and behavioral capabilities of the injured employee. This program is function-directed, not pain-directed. The goal is to return injured employees to their date of injury job, or to the highest level of productive duty. We educate employees to assume responsibility for their own care, recovery, and progression. We also teach supervisors to take ownership of the situation, and to work as part of a team with the therapist and the injured employee. Our therapist works directly with the injured employee, at the workplace, providing proper body mechanics and safety training, medical monitoring, pain management, self-management techniques, and hands-on therapy, as appropriate. Jobsite Solutions' Graduated Return to Work Plan has the benefits of decreasing lost time and disrupted productivity, as the employee no longer has to leave the worksite to receive therapy. The functional focus of the program leads to consistently shorter return-to-work outcomes. |
