February Photo Spotlight: Jeffrey Box

treeThis month’s photographer spotlight is on Jeffrey Box, the Clinic Director in our Boise Maple Grove outpatient clinic. Jeff’s great photo of a lone tree in a barren winter landscape in Yellowstone National Park was selected for the month of February in our calendar.

Jeff took his winning photo while on a photo workshop in February 2011. Capturing the scene involved traveling deep into the backcountry of Yellowstone National Park to an area that is only accessible by snowmobile. Jeff used a Canon EOS Rebel camera with an 18-200mm lens with a polarizing filter to capture the magical scene.

Photography has been a hobby of Jeff’s since he was a teenager. Over the years he has used many cameras including an old 110 instamatic and a polaroid before finally investing in a high quality 35mm SLR camera that helped to grow his photography skills. His favorite subjects are landscapes and the outdoors but he is working on becoming a better action photographer as well.<

Great work on the photo, Jeff! We hope to see more photos from you in our next photo contest and calendar!
