Pregnancy and Running
My guest for this episode of Mountain Land Pelvic Health Podcast is Amanda Olson, doctor of physical therapy and certified pelvic rehabilitation practitioner. She received her bachelor’s degree in 2005 from Pacific University followed by her doctor of physical therapy from Regis University in 2008 and is certified STOTT Pilates instructor and RPCA Certified Running Coach. During this podcast we break down running 101 for both the female athlete and the pregnant female athlete. We provide information on normal gait mechanics within the phases of running, how and why these change in the pregnant female runner, common injuries faced and what females can do to help prevent dysfunctional running during pregnancy to avoid injury.
