Tyler Ellis, PT, DPT, OCS
Clinic Director, Physical Therapist
Tyler Joined the Mountain Land team in the spring of 2013. He earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Northern Arizona University in 2013 and received his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Utah State University in 2010.
Tyler has a strong background in health, fitness and sports performance. While getting his undergrad he played collegiate sports. Tyler threw shot put as member of the university’s track and field team. This experience introduced him to physical therapy and how beneficial it can be in improving performance and injury recovery.
When not in the clinic helping patients get back to full mobility or enhancing their athletic performance, Tyler can be found reading about Neurological Rehab. On more adventurous days he can be spotted outside running, hiking or snowboarding.
Sarah Johncock, PT, DPT
As a native of Michigan, Sarah received her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Michigan in 2009, then her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Grand Valley State University in 2012. In addition to her degrees, Sarah is certified in concussion management and has received extensive training in vestibular physical therapy and mechanical diagnosis and therapy as well.
Sarah’s passion is helping patients achieve the highest level of function possible. Sarah has a special interest in concussions and traumatic brain injuries and helping those with vestibular dysfunction. She also works with patients who experience back and neck disorders using a mixture of principles including the McKenzie method.
When she’s not in the clinic, Sarah enjoys hiking, camping, and traveling to new places with her husband and daughter.
Maddy Banbury, PT, DPT, CF-L2
Maddy graduated from Brigham Young University-Hawaii in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sport science. She went on to earn her doctorate of physical therapy from Northern Arizona University at the Phoenix Biomedical Campus in 2021. Maddy is pelvic floor certified through Herman and Wallace, has training in PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) and holds a CrossFit level 2 certification.
Maddy specializes in treating athletes as well as a variety of musculoskeletal, pelvic floor and neurological conditions, and has participated in medical missions to Jamaica in physical therapy. As a prior athlete and physical therapy patient, Maddy knows first-hand the importance of having a physical therapist who is encouraging and supportive. When working with her patients, she believes in using her education and training to bridge the gap between physical therapy, chronic illness and overall health and well-being.
When not in the clinic, Maddy enjoys spending time exploring the outdoors, traveling, doing CrossFit and competing in Olympic weightlifting.
Tony Holmes, PT, DPT
Tony Holmes received his bachelor’s degree in exercise science in 2015. He went on to earn his doctorate degree in physical therapy from the Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, Provo, Utah in 2021. Tony first joined the Mountain Land team in 2015 as a therapy aide at the Millcreek clinic and then clinic coordinator at the Holladay clinic in 2016.
Tony specializes in orthopedic and has experience treating neurologic conditions. Fluent in speaking Spanish, Tony enjoys working with the Spanish-speaking community and believes in providing a caring and fun environment. His therapy philosophy is, “people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” After injuring his hand when he was younger, he experienced the benefit of physical therapy and how he was able to regain the function of his hand. He wants to share his passion of helping people reach their goals so they can return to the activities they enjoy.
As a father of three, Tony spends his free time with his family either at the pool or taking them to their activities. Staying fit and eating well keeps him and his family busy. Tony also has a slight obsession with shoes. He says he has too many, but no one can have too many shoes!
Hillary Peterson, PTA
Physical Therapist Assistant
Hillary Peterson received her associate’s degree from Southern Utah University and went on to earn an associate of science degree in physical therapy assistant from Provo College in 2015. She first joined the Mountain Land Physical Therapy team in 2008 as a therapy aide while attending college.
Hillary specializes in orthopedics; manual therapy including IASTM; aquatic therapy; therapy for knees, shoulders and TMJ; vestibular physical therapy and treating Parkinson’s disease. She is passionate about listening to and connecting with her patients and providing a positive experience with each visit. Hillary strives to create individualized treatment plans for each patient that help them reach their goals so they can get back to doing the activities they enjoy pain free.
When not in the clinic, Hillary enjoys rock climbing, strength training, running, hiking, traveling, photography, movies and spending time outside with her husband and two boys.
